Pink Flamingo Burlesque

Pink Flamingo Burlesque combines live music with burlesque by some of the most talented burlesque performers in Vancouver and beyond. It's a high-energy, sexy, and funny experience with a big dose of VavaVoom.

Our shows feature burlesque acts by Shaboobie Boobarella and a host of sexy guest performers. We aim to tickle your senses and open your eyes to a new frontier of musical cabaret.

Shaboobie Boobarella and RedThe Burlesque

Pink Flamingo Burlesque is one of the few burlesque groups today that have burlesque performances set to live "bump & grind" music -- the way it was done back in the day. Each show features Shaboobie Boobarella and a rotating line-up of talented guest stars.

We plan on knocking your socks (and jocks!) off with high-concept, high-energy theatrical shenanigans.

The costumes alone are incredible, many of which are hand-made. Shaboobie is always busy sequining, sewing, shimmying and showing off in preparation for each show. Sets, bubble machines and choreography are all ready to roll!

The Music

The Pink Flamingo Orchestra is a six-piece band that will make your hips swing and your shoulders shimmy. This incredibly versatile band include a wide variety of styles in their repertoire -- a collection of songs that inspire the burlesque performers to bump, grind, and swing.

Johnny BongoThe styles of music they play include saucy swing, sexy lounge, rockin' surf, and calypso. This includes everything from Bobby Darin to Elvis Presley to Harry Belafonte.

The band is managed by guitarist Blue Morris and fronted by the talented and beautiful Red on vocals. Other instruments include horns, bongos, keyboards, bass, drums, and others as required.

Pour yourself some gin, put on something sexy, and get ready to dance!

In the Vancouver Sun

During our performance at the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival this weekend, I recognized Pete McMartin in the audience. McMartin is a columnist for the Vancouver Sun, and a rather good one at that. I saw him jotting things down in a little notebook, which I figured was good news for us.

Saturday's newspaper contained a wonderful column all about Shaboobie Boobarella, Pink Flamingo Burlesque, and the festival.

You can read the full article here: Shaboobie, Boylesque, and Skull-and-Crossbone Pasties.
